Meet the Maker: Seoda Treasures is a small creative business created by Michelle Power, Carrick on Suir, Co. Waterford.
"I am so fortunate to live in a beautiful area that is surrounded by rivers, mountains, woodlands, beaches and lots of open spaces filled with wonderful native wildflowers and plants. I have always had a keen interest in Nature and in my surroundings, and I find that in creating unique pieces of nature-inspired giftware I am able to capture and share with you a 'moment in time' of Irish Nature.
The name 'SEODA Treasures' is made up of two words which mean the same thing - SEODA is the Irish word for Jewel or Treasure. Although I'm not a fluent Irish speaker I do love the sound of certain words translated into my native language and SEODA (pronounced show-da) is one of those.
SEODA Treasures produce handcrafted unique giftware items using real dried Irish Wildflowers and other items foraged from Nature such as Wood Bark, Sea Glass and pebbles. Each item is handpicked by me in either my own garden in Co. Waterford or nearby gardens, meadows, woodlands or beaches in South East Ireland. These foraged gifts from nature are then used to produce unique items of jewellery and art. Each handpicked item is carefully selected for their colour, quality and suitability for each individual piece. Wildflowers are pressed and dried for at least two weeks. For the jewellery pieces I choose a suitable flower or item, then place it into an individually hand painted silver toned  metal bezel. Clear Resin is then poured into the bezel to encase the item and preserve it for you to wear and enjoy.
Each piece is truly unique and can never be replicated as is the case with items in Nature, so be assured that your piece will be a 'one-of-a-kind' piece never to be repeated. The items photographed are therefore just a close representation of the pieces that you will receive. I will however endeavour to match each piece as closely as possible to the photographed item.  Each truly unique one-of-a-kind giftware piece is a handcrafted work of art made by me for you to treasure." - Michelle

New offering introduced 2023
"Seoda Treasures has been part of The Tudor Artisan Hub collective since March 2017, I initially made a few items of jewellery from Sea Glass and Sea Shells foraged from the local beaches of Co. Waterford and slowly evolved over the last 7 years to a much wider range of product offerings which are on offer today in the Hub. Linda has been instrumental in the evolution of Seoda Treasures encouraging me to introduce new products, being supportive and offering suggestions and helped me develop the range of products into to the collection it has become today. The Hub has given me a Sales Platform where I can showcase my Product Range, a place where people can go and physically see the product if they wish. I have also had the pleasure of meeting a lot of the other artists who display in the hub and have gained helpful tips from them, from framing queries to best adhesives, to market trends and have developed some great friendships from our meetings in The Hub. Thanks you Linda for creating and overseeing such a great worthwhile collective of amazing talented people and allowing them to showcase their unique artistic creations!" - Michelle Power
