Mara Designs - Gifts from the Sea

Meet the Founder and Maker Muireann Ryan, who is a contemporary jewellery maker, specializing in hand made Titanium, Silver and Pearl jewellery. A lover of the sea, a lot of her inspiration comes from there – the colours, the texture of light on water, the fluidity of water and her creatures. Muireann is also passionate about jewellery being comfortable to wear, so she adds volume and texture to her pieces without adding weight and tries to use catches that are easy to close so the pieces are easy to take on and off.

Muireann is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and worked as an Engineer for 25 years, both in Ireland and the UK. But in 2021, after taking stock of what she wanted to achieve in her life, she made the decision to turn jewellery making into a career. So she left her job, signed up for a full-time jewellery making course and hasn't looked back!

Muireann now works from home close to the Nire Valley in rural County Waterford, creating jewellery, running her own business and looking after her young family.

Muireann joined the Tudor Artisan Hub March 2023 and her beautiful collections are highly sought after!

The Intersect Collection - October 2024

This beautiful collection of jewellery designed and crafted by Mara Designs has a very architectural look and feel, catching the light on its angles and planes as you move. Crafted using both silver and brass materials, this range includes stud earrings in hallmarked silver and warm brass, drop earrings with a combination of silver and brass, a brass brooch and a polished brass dainty pendant with silver chain. The stunning bespoke drop earrings are stunning on the ear - swaying with the movement of your head, they'll catch the light and reflect it back with a beautiful contrast between the white silver and the warm brass. These architectural earrings are perfect to add a bit of understated sparkle to a going out outfit!

Made from satin finish Sterling Silver and Brass, these earrings have silver posts and are hallmarked.

Here is a peep at the gorgeous eye-catching silver studs designed and crafted with an architectural feel. These bespoke studs will add an edge to a simple contemporary outfit, are perfect for a capsule wardrobe. The satin finish is understated, but allows the white of the silver to shine through.

These studs are hallmarked sterling silver and are light and easy to wear!
