In April 2024, we welcomed another new artist O'Gorman Glass to the Tudor Artisan Hub Arts Collective...

O'Gorman Glass - Brothers Michael & Richard are seasoned artists based in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, known best for creating abstract works through innovative technique of pouring paint on glass.

With a rich career spanning over 35 years in the glass industry, O'Gorman brother's expertise extends from precision glass cutting and polishing to the intricate design of aquariums and water features. Their deep understanding of glass as a medium has fuelled their artistic exploration, leading to a unique body of work that captures the fluid interplay of colour on glass.

Their work, rooted in over three decades of experience within the glass industry, transcends traditional boundaries to create a connection between the material and the ephemeral. Through the act of pouring paint on glass, the Makers invite the unpredictable interplay of colours and movement to dictate the narrative of each piece.

"This method, both deliberate and serendipitous, mirrors the fluidity of nature and the human experience, embodying a constant state of change and movement.

Each piece is a reflection of my fascination with the natural world and its endless permutations of beauty. I aim to capture not just the visual spectacle of abstract shapes but the essence of emotion they evoke. The glass is not merely a surface but a space where light, colour, and texture converge to create a visceral experience.

Through my work, I invite viewers to look beyond the surface and immerse themselves in the abstract landscapes contained within, to find moments of beauty, tranquillity, recognition and reflection." - Richard.
