Brass Odyssey & Friends by Billy Byrne, €10
Billy Byrne launched his latest CD 'Brass Odyssey and friends' in the Brewery Lane Theatre, Carrick on Suir, on the 15th of June 2023. Born in Carrick on Suir in 1950, William James (Billy) Byrne grew up in a musical family. After encouragement from local musicians, Billy began playing trumpet and debuted with the Voxenaires in 1967, later turning professional in with The Cowboys. He went to play with several big bands including Jim Farley, Michael Delahunty, Maurice Mulcahey, Jim Cantwell and ultimately joined the Garda Band in 1974 where he became Musical Director and Conductor, retiring as Superintendent in 2005. Billy recorded 2 CDs with the Garda Band and continued his passion for music upon retirement. This CD marks his first solo venture on trumpet and flugelhorn. CD available in the Tudor Artisan Hub €10

The CD features 14 wonderful instrumental tracks with 12 guest musicians. Gay has been performing with many different bands since the 60s including the well known Irish showbands the Voxenaires, the Cowboys, the Real McCoy and the famous Irish Rock band Tweed, the Whole Shabang, Isla Grant band.
In 2018, Gay formed 'The Backyard Band' along with 3 other outstanding musicians Brendan Ryder (Tweed), Peter Dowley and Mick Grace and together have rocked stages all over the Country. Gay performs a wide range of music genre including American country, classic rock, roots, blues, Americana, trad and plays an extensive range of instruments guitar, dobro, bass, mandolin remarkably and superb vocals...such astounding talent! Gay has also spent over 30 years doing session work for other artists before setting up his own recording studios in Carrick on Suir in 2018...
This CD was originally released back in 2005 and includes the beautiful instrumental piece 'Song for Laura' a haunting melody dedicated to Gay's precious daughter Laura - which is so extra special as Laura sadly passed away on April 1st 2020 during Covid-19 pandemic RIP.

'Are you Listening Now' -  Gael Force 3. CD €10
12 Tracks with Liam Leahy - Guitar/Vocals; Niamh Phelan - Fiddle/Flute/Whistle/Vocals and Gerry Phelan - Banjo/Mandolin/Bouzouki with guest appearance Ger O'Donnell - Percussion/Bass.
Gaelforce 3 are a traditional Irish folk band who have travelled all over Ireland and abroad singing and playing Irish folk songs and tunes. They recently released their 2nd album, 'Tracks in the Snow', while there 1st album 'Are you listening now?' got rave reviews.
This uplifting folk band from Co. Clare is comprised of father and daughter, Gerry and Niamh Phelan, both multi-instrumentalists. They are complemented by the powerful voice and finger picking of Liam Leahy on guitar and bouzouki. Later Sean Cummins joined the Group - renamed Gael Force 4, on button accordion and cajon fuses it all together to form a great four piece trad and ballad band with a lot of drive. Gael Force 3 and 4 have performed regularly at the Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival.
